No Anvils please. That was pretty much the initial brief for the visual identity for Sculped Steel. Charis Jones is a blacksmith who was looking to streamline her product line and needed a solid, representative brand to go with it.
Her product line was varied and, just like her branding it needed focus. The new product she was looking to sell is custom hand crafted illustrative steel panels. Bearing this in mind I set about combining letterforms into a monogram that also represented the 2 and 3 dimensional nature of the product while referencing the natural forms she includes in her work, along with the structural properties of steel. The use of a classic yet contemporary typeface and colour scheme has set the basis for ongoing brand work in the future. She asked for high end and classic, and here we go.
